She graduated from North Central High School in 1958 and went on to earn a R.N. degree from Deaconess Hospital in 1961 and worked as a surgical nurse.

It was love at first sight when Dave and Irene met at Whitworth College. The couple married on September 4, 1960 in Spokane at the Northwood Presbyterian Church. She was a homemaker and mother, a volunteer nurse for the Red Cross and served as church secretary for several years.

Irene enjoyed gardening, reading, playing the piano, sewing and quilting. She was a member of the P.E.O. women’s service organization, AntiRust Book Club and Presbyterian Women’s Organization. She also accompanied the children’s choir at Prosser United Methodist Church.

Bayne of Mesa, Arizona; daughter, Suzanne Colgren (John) of Prosser; and Ryan Bayne (Samantha) and their sons, Flynn, Nash and Corbin of Seattle. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Thelma Campbell.

The family expresses thanks for the professional and loving care she received from the staff at Sun Terrace and Heartlinks Hospice.
