Shirley Thelma Jacobson

Shirley Thelma Jacobson, 82, former longtime Grandview resident, passed away on September 11, 2017 at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle.
She was born on May 25, 1935 in Weiser, Idaho to Elwyn and Olive (McDaniel) Richards. She was raised and educated in Huntington, Oregon and Grandview, Washington. She married Leonard A. Jacobson on April 1, 1956 in Grandview. They made Seattle their home for thirty years and after Lenny’s retirement from Boeing in 1987, the couple made their home in Grandview. Shirley worked at Topside Cannery, Prosser Pack and People for People providing private care to Seniors until retiring. She moved to Cleburne, Texas in 2007. Shirley was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by her daughter, Patrina Hayes of Las Vegas; son, Sky Jacobson of Seattle; three sisters, Donna Jean Cervine of Sunnyside, Charlotte Richards of Seattle and Margery Guthridge of Yakima; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years on June 5, 2006.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 16th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Prosser Ward. Viewing will be held at the church on Saturday beginning at 11:30 until the time of service. Concluding services and burial will follow in the Prosser Cemetery.
