CYPRESS, TEXAS: Sarita (Finkelstein) Lerman, 75, formerly of Framingham, died on Monday, September 11, 2017 following a brief and courageous battle with leukemia.
She was born in Worcester on November 25, 1941 the daughter of the late Samuel Finkelstein and Ruth (Goldstein) Finkelstein.
Sarita is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Steven H. Lerman of Cypress, Texas, formerly of Framingham. Beloved mother of Marc Lerman of Hopkinton and Cheryl Hogan and her husband Christopher Hogan of Medfield. Cherished grandmother of Aaron Lerman, Nolan and Dylan Hogan. Also survived by two nieces.
Sarita had been a resident of Framingham for 48 years before moving to Cypress, Texas a year and a half ago. She spent her formative years in Worcester and was a graduate of Worcester Classical High School. She received her BS in Physical Therapy from Boston University and her Masters Degree in Education from Boston State College.
For over 47 years, Sarita was a Special Education Tutor for the Town of Framingham School Department for high school students. She loved flowers and the planting of her garden. She enjoyed raising tomato plants on her patio in containers.
She loved to cook, spend time with her family and friends and loved her precious cat “Rusty”. Sarita will be remembered for her kindness and dedication to helping others. Sarita was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who were the center of her life.
Her funeral services will be held on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 11:00 am at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte. 30), Wayland.
Interment will follow in the Lerman family lot in Edgell Grove Cemetery in Framingham.
