NATICK: June A. (Brodrick) Gibb, 84, died peacefully at her residence in Ashland on Thursday, September 7, 2017.
She was born in Waltham, MA on May 26, 1933 the daughter of the late Charles H. Brodrick and Elsie L. (Haron) Brodrick.
June was the loving wife of the late Rev. Robert E. Gibb who died on April 9, 1986. She is the beloved mother of Donald C. Gibb and his wife Lucy D. Gibb of Oak Park Heights, MN and Stephan J. Gibb of Ashland. Cherished grandmother of Chappy Gibb; Nico Gibb and Liam Gibb all of Oak Park Heights, MN. Also survived by one niece and two nephews. She was the sister of the late Dr. C. Warren Brodrick and Hollis E. Brodrick.
June had resided in Natick for over 23 years before moving to Ashland. She spent her formative years in Waltham and Wolfeboro, NH.
She was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church in Natick where her husband Rev. Robert E. Gibb served as Pastor. June was a member of the Circle 13 at the First Congregational Church. For many years, she volunteered her time at the Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick. She enjoyed taking long walks and bird-watching at the Audubon Society in South Natick, and in recent years, taking day excursions with her sons to look at horses and visit Bubbling Brook for ice cream.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be fondly missed by all of the lives that she touched.
At the request of her family, there will be no funeral home visitations.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the First Congregational Church of Natick, 2 East Central Street (Rte. 135), Natick Center.
Interment will follow in the Gibb family lot in Glenwood Cemetery in South Natick.
In lieu of flowers her family kindly suggests that memorial gifts in June’s memory be sent to Fund for Nature, Mass Audubon, 208 South Great Road, Lincoln, MA 01773 and would be appreciated.
