Rose Marie Kordish

Rose Marie Kordish, Peckville, died surrounded by her loving family on Sept. 3. Surviving is her husband, John Kordish Sr. The couple would've celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Nov. 22.

Born in Olyphant, daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna Krehel Marcinko. She was educated in the Olyphant schools and was retired from Haband Inc. Visits from her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life.

Surviving are three daughters, Deborah Hooshiar and husband, Samuel, of Archbald, Pa.; Laurie Viscomi and husband, Charles, of Jessup, Pa.; and Kimberly Lastauskas and husband, Edward, of Scott Twp.; a son, John Kordish Jr. and wife, Amy, of Peckville, Pa.; six grandchildren, Richard and Jeremy Karwaski, Robert Hooshiar, EJ and Lynsey Lastauskas, and Ava Kordish; six great-grandchildren, Logan, Gracie, Eva, Jack, Abigail and Madison; a sister, Andrea Novak; and a brother, Andre Marcinko.

She was also preceded in death by brother, Nicholas Marcinko Jr.; and a sister, Shirley Ilnicki.

Also surviving are nieces and nephews; she shared a special bond with her niece, Donna Walsh.

The family would like to extend its thanks and gratitude to those who offered kind words, Masses, prayers, love and support for our family over the last few weeks.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in SS. Cyril and Methodius Church, River Street, Olyphant, Pa. Interment, SS. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery, Peckville, Pa.
