William P. Slocum Sr., 79, of Canton died peacefully at home on Saturday, September 2, 2017. William was a proud veteran of the Massachusetts Army National Guard. Devoted husband of the late Ruth M. Slocum (Dalton). Beloved brother of Ruth E. Chisholm of Scituate, the late John J. Slocum Jr. of Boston and the late Robert L. Slocum of Whitman. Loving father of William P. Slocum Jr. and his wife Andrea of Canton, David A. Slocum and his wife Martha of Norwell, Bradford J. Slocum and his wife Charlene of Canton, and Linda M. Slocum Vassallo of Norwell. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours in the Roache-Pushard Home for Funerals, 210 Sherman St., Canton on Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 4-8 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:00 AM in St. Gerard Majella Church, 1860 Washington St., Canton. Interment Canton Corner Cemetery.
