Gaetano “Guy” Musto, age 80, of Mansfield, formerly of Hyde Park, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Monday, August 28, 2017 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret M. (Dolan) Musto, who died on July 24, 2002.

Born in Montefalcione, Avellino, Italy on December 13, 1936, he was a loving son of the late Carmen and Sarafina (Musto) Musto.

Guy grew up in Italy and at the age of fifteen moved to the United States. He was educated in both Italy and the United States.

A retired machinist, Mr. Musto had worked for over fifty years at Hardware Products in Chelsea, recently retiring at age seventy-nine. He had made his home in Mansfield for the past twenty-six years and was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield.

Guy’s happiest times by far, were those spent with his adoring family. His hobbies included gardening, cooking, baking, and construction projects at his home and for others. Mr. Musto will always be remembered for his generous selfless mannerism.

He is survived by his devoted children Donna M. Riga and her husband Robert of Dover, NH, Anne M. Hansen and her husband Paul of Mansfield, Michael J. Musto and his wife Emily of Newfields, NH and Guy J. Musto and his wife Carolyn of Norwell. He was the dear brother of Emilio Musto of Stoughton, Mary Catalano of Roslindale, Pia Crugnale of Canton, and the late Alexander, Mario, Nicky, John and Carlo Musto. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Mike, Sam, J.T., Jackie, Victoria and Anthony, as well as his many loving nieces and nephews.

His funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Friday, September 1st at 11:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 31st from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman& Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.

In lieu of flowers, Guy’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to Crystal Springs, Inc., 38 Narrows Road, Assonet, MA 02072.
