WAYLAND: Jean Ellen Marshall, 54, died peacefully and comfortably surrounded by her loving sisters on August 1, 2017 following a brief illness.
She was born in Newton on September 22, 1962 the daughter of the late Alton L. F. Marshall, Jr and Josephine M. (Caccavo) Marshall.
Jean is survived by her loving and caring sisters, Marie M. Winter of Wayland and Joanne M. Silvernail and her husband Dr. David Silvernail, Jr. of Leesburg, VA. She was the sister of the late John E. Marshall and sister-in-law of the late William W. Winter, Jr. She is also survived by 3 nieces, 4 nephews, 2 great-nieces and 7 great-nephews.
She spent her formative years in Wayland with her family and was a resident at New Day in Groton for over nine years and for 17 years resided at NWW Committee for Community Living in Newton where she had many friends and an extended family.
Jean was a graduate of St. Coletta’s Day School in Braintree and was a retail assistant and associate with Wendy’s, CVS, The International Data Corporation as well as J.C. Penney and The GAP.
Jean was an avid swimmer and loved track and running. She participated in and was awarded medals as a competitor with Special Olympics in both swimming and track. She loved bowling, miniature golf and attending musical and theatre performances.
She loved the time spent with her family and friends. Jean will hold a very special place in the hearts of her family and the many friends that she met along her life’s journey. She lived her life to the fullest each and every day.
Private family interment will be held at the Marshall family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland.
A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Trinitarian Congregational Church, 52 Cochituate Road (Rte. 27), Wayland.
