On May 15, 1952 Carlo enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on April 22, 1954. After the service, Carlo and his wife Marie (Foti) married on August 11, 1957 in St. Mary’s Church of Boston’s North End. The two built their family around love and devotion.

After his retirement, Carlo spent much of his time with family. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening at home and growing vegetables, watching sports, specifically the Boston Red Sox and Bruins, and traveling to Italy and Florida. He also enjoyed spending time with his canine companions, Tyson and Gio.

He was the devoted father of Frank Fabiano and his wife Andrea of Medford, and Peter Fabiano and his wife Nicole of Wakefield.
