Gerard “Jerry” E Shader, 88, formally of Point Pleasant Beach, NJ passed away on Friday, July 14 at Fairview Nursing Home in Groton, CT after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Jerry was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on April 4, 1929. He married Marie Caroline Shader on June 7, 1958 in Clark, NJ. Jerry was a member of IBEW Local 164 for over 6O years. He proudly served in the US Marine Corps during WWII. He was a member of the Marine Corp League and the VFW of Point Pleasant Beach.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Marie Caroline, his daughters and their families Jane and her husband, Carroll Potts of Quaker Hill, CT, Carol and her husband John Luccioni of Point Pleasant Beach, NJ and Nancy Shader of Sayreville, NJ. Jerry and Marie have 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
A service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, July 21 at 2:00 PM at BG William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 14 Chesterfield Arneytown Road, Wrightstown, NJ. The family will welcome friends at a repast at Simkos Grill, 408 Higgins Avenue, Brielle, NJ.
