FRAMINGHAM: Darah Elizabeth Case-Kane, age 19, a lifelong resident of Framingham, died peacefully on Thursday night, July 6, 2017, after facing the many challenges of debilitating illness with grace and determination. She was surrounded by her family as well as the prayers and thoughts of countless others at the time of her passing.
Born and raised in Framingham, she was a daughter of Fabiola Case and James P. Kane. Darah studied culinary arts at the Joseph P. Keefe Technical High School, graduating with the Class of 2016.
Darah, who suffered auto-immune issues throughout her life, was possessed of an innate goodness that was strong enough to transmute the negativity of her trials into an open and loving heart. She recognized and sought out others who struggled internally and offered them her kindness and bright light without expectation. When she was able, Darah volunteered at Suburban, her mother’s place of work. She loved to bake, decorating cakes and pastries for those she loved and never grew tired of her passion for all things Disney, particularly princesses. Darah was a voracious reader and happily researched various topics. In recent years she enjoyed reading books that were adapted for the screen and comparing the original to the motion picture with a well grounded critique.
Despite often facing daunting limitations, Darah seldom complained and greeted others with equanimity and a smile. The warmth she exuded cheered many and her honest loving nature will be sorely missed.
She is survived by her parents, Fabi and James; a sister, Briana Elizabeth; her nephew, Alexander James; grandparents Bob and Osla Case; her uncle, Alex Case, his wife Tania; their children, Matthew and Tiah; and a large and loving extended family. Darah was also the granddaughter of the late James and Patricia Kane.
A Graveside Service will be held at Edgell Grove Cemetery, 53 Grove Street, Framingham, on Friday, July 14th at 11:00AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, Thursday from 4 – 7PM, with a Service of Remembrance beginning at 7:00PM.
