James P. Freitas II
6/29/2017

James Paul Freitas II, age 40, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, June 29, 2017. He was born on September 18, 1976 to James and Lynne (Zolon) Freitas of South Medford. He was a 1994 graduate of Medford Vocational High School and later became a proud Tin Knocker of Sheet Metal Workers Local 17.

He was the grandson of the late Stephen and Doris Freitas and the late Charles and Virginia Zolon, all from Medford. He is survived by Godparents Nancy Tourkantonis of Woburn and Bobby Freitas of Everett. He is also survived by his loving sister, Angela Ortiz and her husband Manny of Woburn, and his adoring 4-year-old twin nieces, Sierra and Ayla, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and his beloved girlfriend, Cristi Cervera.

Family meant everything to “Jimbo”. He had a childlike heart and was always found with kids, creating fun and laughter. He was well liked by people of all ages, who appreciated his polite and respectful ways and how he offered a helping hand whenever it was needed. He loved listening to music, drawing, fishing, being at the beach, and celebrating each holiday and season with special family traditions. He was a typical New England sports fan, rooted in his own love and involvement with sports at an early age. Being a South Medford Little League Dodger and All Star, coached by his Dad, was a favorite pastime. He had a special way with animals, a true animal lover, and especially took to those who were strays and needed that extra care and affection of which he so freely gave. In these moments, you could witness his heart at work.

May the memories he made with all who loved him live on in your hearts forever.

Jimbo, “If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.”
