Anna T. "Ann" Mooradd

LONGMEADOW – Anna T. “Ann” Mooradd, 94, of Longmeadow, was Peacefully Called Home on Sunday, July 2, 2017. She passed into Eternal Life in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Winchendon, Massachusetts on February 12, 1923, a beloved daughter of the late Fudda "Elizabeth" Lataif and George Mooradd Checrallah. Her family moved to Springfield in 1924 and she graduated from Sacred Heart Grammar School and in 1941 from Sacred Heart High School, both in Springfield. She moved to Longmeadow in 1952 where she was a 50-year communicant of Saint Mary Church. She had worked in the retail industries in Holyoke and the Carlisle Department Store in downtown Springfield. In 1963, she began a new career at Baystate Gas Company in Springfield where she worked in various departments and retired in 1989 as a supervisor and manager of the Accounts Payable Department. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her six dear brothers and her dear sister, Henry Mooradd, Najim "James" Checrallah and his wife, Margaret, Roger Checrallah, Mooradd Mooradd, Peter Mooradd, Paul Mooradd and Mary Mooradd Checrallah. She leaves her two dear sisters-in-law, Sally (Rivard) Mooradd of Longmeadow and Claire M. (Balboni) Mooradd of Springfield; her many cherished nephews and nieces, Father Paul Mooradd, Michael Mooradd and his wife, Theresa, Diane Perry, Mary Anne Beirne and her husband, Anthony, James Checrallah and his wife, Sharon, Margo Checrallah, Patricia Paro and her husband, Phil, Peter Mooradd and his wife, Lissa, Krissy Gasque-Lessard and her husband, Serge, David Mooradd and his wife, Toni, John Mooradd and his wife, Catherine, and Julie Cascio and her husband, Thomas; and their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her many dear friends and extended members of the Mooradd and Lataif families. Her family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Saturday morning, July 8, 2017 at 10 a.m. in Saint Mary Church, (Please meet directly at the Church), 519 Longmeadow Street, Longmeadow, MA 01106. Her burial will follow the Mass at Saint Michael Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield, MA 01109. Her family will receive friends on Friday, July 7, 2017 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107.
