Obituary

FALL RIVER… Frank E. Mello, 95, of Fall River, formerly of Westport, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Crawford Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was the widower of Noella (Jeffries) Mello.
Born in Tiverton, he was a son of the late Antone and Emma (Cabral) Mello and had lived most of his life in Westport.
Mr. Mello was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during WWII. He worked as a Brake Man at the former Quaker Fabric in Fall River for decades prior to his retirement and was a former communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church in Westport. He was a member of the American Legion in Westport and life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Tiverton. He enjoyed rebuilding bicycles and selling them.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by 3 brothers; John, Alfred and Manuel Mello and 6 sisters; Jacintha Tavares, Mary “Stella” Mello, Mabel Alves, Jeanette Soares, Leontina “Lottie” Alves and Georgiana Soares.
Committal prayers and entombment to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 10 AM at Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
