James M. "Jimmy" Fournier

CHICOPEE – James M. “Jimmy” Fournier, 45, of the Chicopee Falls section of Chicopee, was Called Home on Thursday, June 15, 2017. He passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by all the memories that he loved and cherished. He was born in Holyoke on July 30, 1971, a beloved son of Dennis R. and Cynthia J. (Black) Fournier of Jupiter, Florida. He was raised in Chicopee, graduated with the Chicopee Comprehensive High School Class of 1989, and was a lifelong resident of Chicopee. He served his country in the United States Army during the Gulf War and attained the rank of Private First Class. He was employed as a courier at Tom and Tom Delivery in Chicopee. He enjoyed playing hockey and was an avid New England sports fan, always cheering for his Bruins, Celtics and Patriots. He loved spending time outdoors and always found time for hiking and fishing. Always a comic, he enjoyed making everyone laugh. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family and many friends. In addition to his beloved parents, he leaves his loving brother, Jeffrey A. Fournier of Belmont, MA; his cherished maternal grandfather, Ronald M. Black and his wife, Verna, of Boynton Beach, FL; his cherished maternal grandmother, Eunice M. (Roy) Black of Jupiter, FL; his two dear uncles, Scott Black and his wife, Shirley, of Savannah, GA and Glen Black and his wife, Catherine, of Springfield; his two dear aunts, Heather Woolf and her husband, Jonathan of Jupiter, FL and Diane Milelzcik and her husband, Wayne, of Chicopee; and his many dear cousins, friends and extended members of the Fournier and Black families. He was predeceased by his cherished paternal grandparents, Marcel “Freckles” Fournier who was Called Home on April 21, 1987 and Doris T. (Berthiaume) Fournier who was Called Home on November 7, 1997; and his dear uncle, Michael Black who was Called Home on April 27, 1977. His family will receive friends on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service to be held at 5:00 p.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance are located at the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
