Obituary

Daryl Staniszewski, age 55, died unexpectedly Thursday June 1, 2017. Daryl was born in Scotland and emigrated as a toddler with his family from there to the United States in the early 60’s. He graduated from Brockton High School, served in the US Navy on the USS McKee (AS-41) and then in the reserve.

One of Daryl’s passions was fishing. He worked alongside of the Captains of the Unicorn and the Sorry Charlie as well as others fishing in New England waters. His love of being on the water motivated him to seek his USCG license and employment on barges, tugs and other vessels in Alaska, Boston and New York. Additionally for an extended period of time Daryl worked for the electrical union setting up expositions and shows traveling extensively coast to coast. In all his jobs, including his military career, he was described as an exemplary employee and his personal effects were filled with numerous letters of commendation and praise for his high standards and work ethic.

Daryl was a perfectionist in all he did. He was generous to a fault even when he had little to give. He had an infectious smile and a dry sense of humor. He had a big heart and his compassion manifested in his love for all animals over the years and most recently for Champ and Decoda. Daryl also had a talent for cooking and preparing unique meals with a flare and he shared those with many a friend. Lastly Daryl will be remembered driving his Harley “Pearl” out on the open road where he found peace and joy.

Daryl is predeceased by his brother Cpl. Wladyslaw Staniszewksi USMC 1967, his father Frankciszek, and mother Rosina. He is survived by his sister Lorraine Burbank, his cousin Dana MacMullen and numerous cousins in the UK and Poland.

Services will be held at the Melrose Cemetery 88 N. Pearl St. Brockton Mass. on Saturday July 8th at 11:30 A.M.
