Mary D. "Lulu" (Scoppettuolo) Cimino

Mary D. “Lulu” (Scoppettuolo) Cimino, a resident of Medford for the last fifty-seven years and formerly of East Boston, passed away peacefully, at her home, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, June 10th. She was 78.

Born and raised in East Boston, she was the daughter of the late Carmine and Josephine (Taurasi) Scoppettuolo. Mary graduated from East Boston High School with the class of 1956. After high school, she and her husband Jimmy married in 1957 at St. John’s Church in East Boston.

A homemaker, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed watching the Game Show Network. Two of her favorite games shows were Family Feud and Deal or No Deal. Another favorite television program was Texas Ranger Walker. She loved both Chuck Norris and Elvis Presley. She and her husband always enjoyed going out to Dance when they were able to. Mary was an avid coffee drinker. She enjoyed her coffee hot and with milk only. One of her biggest concerns was always making sure her family was fed. A wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend, she will be remembered and missed by many.

Mary was the beloved wife of the late James “Jimmy” Cimino, who passed away in 1996. The two would have been married for sixty years. She was the devoted mother of Yvonne Cimino-Santos and her husband John of Malden, Mark Cimino and his wife Geraldine of Medford, Suzette Cimino of Medford, and the late James “Jimmy” Cimino Jr. who passed away in 2001. Mary was the loving grandmother of James Michael Cimino and Kristen Marion Cimino, both of Medford and the late Anthony Cimino. She was the dear sister of the late Joseph “Gigi” Scoppettuolo and his surviving wife Helen of Revere, Anthony “Tony” Scoppettuolo and his wife Meena of Wilmington, Elena Rodrigues and her late husband Charles of New Hampshire, the late John “Sonny” Scoppettuolo, Julia Scoppettuolo and her husband Bob Clausen of Florida, The late Theresa Shire and her late husband Dee, Josephine Scoppettuolo and her husband Leonard “Lenny” Nelson of Boston. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford on Friday, June 16th at 10AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford at 11AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4 through 8PM.
