Cecile M. (Leclerc) Leclair "Memere"
6/10/2017

Leclair, Cecile M. (Leclerc), of Milton, formerly of New Bedford,
"Memere"passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 10, 2017. Widow of the late Raymond W. Leclair. She was the beloved mother of Paul Leclair & his wife Mary of Fayetteville, NC, Suzanne Fahey and John A. Leclerc, both of Milton and the late Marc M. Leclair and cherished grandmother of Joseph, Lauren, and Olivia Fahey of Milton, William and Andre Leclerc of Milton, Matthew, Patrick and Rose Leclair of NC, Jacqueline and Nicole Leclair of Marion and eight great grandchildren.
It would be hard to find anyone as selflessly devoted to her family than Cecile. Known to most by “Memere”, she pampered her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren tirelessly throughout her life. She was always more concerned about everyone else’s well-being than with her own. In fact, her contentedness was tied to the safety and well-being of her family. She would always ask, “Any big news?” And we’d always reassure her that everyone was doing fine. She deserved that.
Memere worked with her daughter Sue in the family home daycare for 25 years — caring for so many children over the years with the same patience and compassion and good humor that she had for her own family. Many of the children Memere looked after all these years now have families of their own — and Memere left an impression on them all.
Memere's only concern was for others. She would not let her visitors leave without first taking snacks, goodies, and giving them a big hug and kiss. Her altruism was unmatched, and could be felt by all. Her friendliness could brighten anyone’s day. Memere had a shining personality and a wonderful sense of humor. It was impossible to spend time with her and part without a smile. Memere was truly social, in the most literal sense; there was no one she couldn’t charm.
She will be forever missed but her spirit, wit, and compassion will live on in the hearts of all those that knew and loved her.
