Obituary

Mr. Raymond Scheer, a resident of Andover and beloved husband of Vanna J. (Verme) Scheer, passed away at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston on Thursday evening, June 8, 2017. He was 70 years old.

Born in Queens, New York, he was the beloved son of the late Jacob and Anna (Liebermann) Scheer. Mr. Scheer was a Vietnam Army veteran. Raymond was a Software Engineer and had been employed by Verizon for more than 35 years. In his spare time, Mr. Scheer loved doing game puzzles, working on computers and learning new things. He also was a volunteer Paramedic for the Ambulance Corps. in Rosedale, New York and the Poconos in Pennsylvania. Ray was also a Professor at NorthEastern University. Ray enjoyed attending the theater, traveling with his wife and spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed.

Besides his beloved wife, Vanna, he is survived by his loving children; Christine A. Chick of Eliot, Maine, Diana L. Sakowich of Hudson, New Hampshire, Missy K. Scheer of Holmes, Pennsylvania, Stevie M. Scheer of Dover, New Hampshire and Dustin T. Scheer of Eliot, Maine, sisters; Karen Scheer of Rosedale, New York, the late Judy Rega of Rosedale, New York and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at 10:30 Am. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Monday, June 12, 2017, from 4 to 8 PM.
