Hazel M.D., George M. of Wakefield formerly of Winchester and No. Falmouth, June 1, 2017. Beloved husband of Paula C. (Coakley) Hazel.

George was an Orthopedic Surgeon for 36 years in several towns north of Boston. He was a graduate of St. Anselm College and Tufts University School of Medicine. He was a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Diplomate of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He loved practicing medicine, but his greatest love was his family. He and Paula cherished their 51 years together and embraced every moment with their children and grandchildren. He was smart, witty and fun, and all who knew him came away with a greater appreciation for life.

In addition to his beloved wife Paula, he is survived by his devoted children, Kristen Faro and her husband Richard of Wakefield, Shawna Pepi and her husband Michael of Reading, Mark Hazel and his wife Elizabeth of Walpole. He was the loving grandfather of Mia, Marissa and Matthew Pepi, Oliva and Ava Faro, Ryan, Cameron and Sean Hazel. Also survived by many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and extended family. The Hazel family would also like to gratefully acknowledge Cardiologist Dr. Charles Boucher for his tremendous care and friendship over the past 22 years.

Funeral services will be held from McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Tuesday, June 6th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Eulalia Church, 50 Ridge St., Winchester, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday from 4 thru 7 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Winchester.
