Stephen J. Dingivan, age 70, of Foxborough, formerly of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly at Norwood Hospital on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. He was the loving longtime companion of Mary Beth Murray, with whom he made his home.
Born in Malden, MA on September 3, 1946, he was a loving son of the late Richard and Rosemary Dingivan.
Steve grew up in Malden. He was educated in Malden and Medford schools and was a 1966 graduate of Medford High School.
A resident of Foxborough for the past ten years, Steve was a proud owner of a Pepperidge Farm Distributorship and was also employed part time in the summer months at the Foxborough Country Club.
Steve was an avid New England sports fan and especially loved watching the games with his son Chris. He also enjoyed golfing, beaches, traveling and most of all, spending time with his adoring family.
In addition to Mary Beth, he is survived by his devoted children Christopher S. Dingivan of Mansfield, and Kerri L. Ruiz and her husband Rene of Texas. He was the cherished grandfather of Elijah Ruiz and Gianna Ruiz. He was the dear brother of Richard Dingivan and his wife Laura of Oregon, William Dingivan and his wife Jodi of California, and the late Gerald Dingivan and Paul Dingivan. He was the former husband of Carol (DiMinico) Dingivan of Mansfield, and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a service in celebration of his life, on Saturday, June 3rd at 5:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be held prior to the services on Saturday beginning at 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, Stephen’s family has requested that donations in his memory may be made to the Arc of Bristol County, 141 Park St., Attleboro, MA 02703.
