Willie Earl Judson, age 72, died Friday, May 26, 2017 at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Oxford, MS. He was born May 8, 1945 in Goodman, MS to the late Thelmer Brown and Fredine Oliver Judson. Willie served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. After leaving the Army Willie worked as a guard at the Swedish American Hospital until he retired. He was a member of Everdale M.B. Church in Water Valley, MS and enjoyed traveling, spending time with his friends discussing military service, watching westerns on TV and doing laundry. Willie was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who cherished time with family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, June 2, 2017 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Everdale M.B. Church in Water Valley with Rev. Amos Sims officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Water Valley with Jametric Judson, Eric Judson, Jeffrey Burgess, Rotez Rockette, Jerry Turner, Jr., and Melvin Burgess serving as pallbearers. James Judson, Courtney Judson, Donerell Judson, Leon Fleming, Johnny Judson and Steven Judson will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Willie is survived by his wife of 13 years, Joyce Judson of Water Valley, MS; his daughters, Ona Croam (Lee), Lisa Judson, Tiara Judson, Greta Burgess, and Tamara Turner (Jerry); his sons, Michael Judson, Paul Judson, Kelvin Judson and Melvin Burgess; his sisters, Sandra Jones (Richard), Sheila Turner (Joe), and Mary Judson; his brothers, James Judson (Mildred), Courtney Judson (Shirley), Johnny Judson (Carolyn), and Donerell Judson (Gwenn); three grandchildren, Shantanizea Judson, Diamond Fricks, and Truniqua Bonner; and five step-grandchildren, Jeffrey Burgess, Rotez Rockette, Tierra Turner, Morgan Burgess and Maya Burgess.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Roberts.
