SPRINGFIELD – Andrew P. Phelan, 59, of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, May 28, 2017. He passed into Eternal Life at his home surrounded by all the memories he loved and cherished. He was born in Springfield on October 14, 1957, a beloved son of Mary T. (Fenton) Phelan of Springfield and the late Thomas J. Phelan. He was raised in Springfield, attended Springfield Trade High School and was a lifelong resident of the city. He was last employed at the former Food Mart Warehouse in Springfield and had previously worked at the Springfield Water Department and various roofing companies in Springfield. He was an avid Red Sox, Bruins, Patriots and Celtics fan and was a member of the Blarney Stone Sportsmen’s Club. Besides his father, he was predeceased by his three loving brothers, Thomas J. Phelan, Joseph M. Phelan and James M. Phelan. Besides his loving mother, he leaves his two loving brothers, Kevin A. Phelan and Michael D. Phelan and his wife, Carol, and his loving sister-in-law, Joan E. (Doyle) Phelan, all of Springfield; his cherished nephew and two nieces, Mark A. Phelan, Christine M. Phelan and Melissa Phelan; his loving aunt, Anne Connors of Springfield; and numerous dear cousins and friends. His funeral and burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of his family.
