Mary Valentino

Valentino, Mary, age 93, of Quincy, passed away peacefully after a long illness on May 26, 2017. Born in Chieti, Italy, as a young girl Mary moved with her family to the U.S. and grew up in the Hyde Park section of Boston. A good student, she graduated from Hyde Park High School and was second in her class when she graduated from Boston Clerical Business School. Mary was retired from her life long occupation as a Legal Secretary, having worked in several established Boston Legal Firms. A devout Catholic and caring woman, she spent a considerable amount of her free time in her retirement knitting afghans and other items for those in need. Mary was a talented fast knitter and donated much of her work to the homeless at Fr. Bill's, to the Cradle to Crayons program, as well as to the Channel Two TV Auctions. She was the devoted daughter of the late Florindo and Serafino Valentino, the loving sister of Nelda Fullerton and her late husband Donald of Mattapoisset, Rudolph Valentino & his wife Patricia of Milton and the late Linda A. Cannucci and Anthony Valentino. The dear aunt of John, Kevin, Maryann, Karen & the late Mark Valentino, and Susan McAuley, Nancy Tilton, Robert & the late Michael Cannucci., she is also survived by many grandnieces, grandnephews and lifelong friends. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Church, Quincy, Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 10am. Visiting hours will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 4 to 8 PM. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Hyde Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Father Bill’s and MainSpring, 422 Washington St., Quincy, MA 02169.
