Obituary

Mary Golouski, 67, died Thursday, May 18, 2017 in Rhode Island Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Joseph Golouski. They had been married for 32 years.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of John and Agnes (Savickas) Richards. After graduation from Rhode Island College, Mary worked at Rhode Island Hospital for 46 years before retiring in November 2016. During her long service and dedication to Rhode Island Hospital, she served many different roles. Mary began her clinical training at the School of Medical Technology in 1970. Upon graduation, she was hired as a Medical Technologist in the Hematology Department. Mary had strong clinical and technological skills in laboratory medicine and in 1976 she became a supervisor for the Hematology Laboratory. In 1994, Mary was promoted to be a manager for a new outpatient laboratory. Mary continued in her manager role until her retirement when she could spend more time with her beloved pet cat, Baby.

Her funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD HOME, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am in St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visitation Sunday from 3-6 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), PO Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090-6929.
