Gloria M. (Breault) Maxwell

CHICOPEE – Gloria M. (Breault) Maxwell, 86, a longtime resident of Clairmont Avenue in the Sandy Hill section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday morning, May 19, 2017. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born at home in Chicopee on December 29, 1930, a beloved daughter of the late Octave J. and Dorothy M. (Miller) Breault. She was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee High School and was a lifelong resident of Aldenville. She was employed for 36 years at Preferred Electronics in Westfield and retired as a supervisor. Previously, she was employed at the former Forbes and Wallace and Steiger’s Department Stores, both in Springfield, and Filene’s and Macy’s, both in Holyoke. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her loving family and her many dear friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, William H. Maxwell, Jr. who was Called Home on March 2, 2009. They were married on June 17, 1950 at Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee and were blessed with over 58 years of happiness together. She leaves her three loving sons, William H. Maxwell, III, Richard R. Maxwell and his wife, Dawn, and Scott O. Maxwell, Sr. and his wife, Laurie, all of Chicopee; her eight cherished grandchildren, William H. Maxwell, IV and his wife, Tessie, Kristen A. Maxwell, Andrew B. Maxwell and his fiancée, Sarah Brantley and her daughter, Lilly, Fallon M. Billeter and her husband, Andrew, Jonathan S. Maxwell and his wife, Charlotte, Scott O. Maxwell, Jr. and his wife, Tina, Amanda Dupuis and her husband, Barry, and Nicholas P. Maxwell; her seven cherished great-grandchildren, Jamin Fuller, Abigail, Charles and Cooper Maxwell, Austin and Alexus Micheli, and William Dupuis; her four dear sisters-in-law, Lorraine Breault of Chicopee, Dolores Breault of Southwick, Betty Breault of Chicopee and Elaine Lacoste of Brighton, MA; her dear former daughter-in-law, Karen A. Roy of Maryland; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Maxwell and Breault families. She also leaves her beloved prize possession and constant companion, her cat, Peanut. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her dear brothers and sisters, Leonard “Red”, Albert “Pete”, Ronald “Red” and Roger Breault, Lorraine Breault and Rena Parent. Her sons would like to extend their deepest thanks to her daughter-in-law, Laurie, for her constant care and wonderful attention she provided to her for so many years. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday morning, May 23, 2017 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, May 22, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
