Obituary

Lamprini (Basdravanis) Milionis, 93 of Worcester passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family on May 10, 2017 at Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She is predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Stavros, who passed away in 1996.
Lamprini is survived by her four children, George Milionis and his wife Frances of Paxton, Cleo Milionis, of Ocala, Florida, Bessie Petropoulos, and her husband John of Sturbridge, MA and Connie St. Amand also of Sturbridge, MA. She is predeceased by her son-in-law, Gordon St. Amand. In addition, she was “Yia Yia” to 11 grandchildren, and “Big Yia Yia” to 12 great grandchildren that she adored. She also leaves her sister, Georgia Athanasiou and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was born in the village of Tsamantas, Epirus Greece, the daughter of Michael Basdravanis and Constantina (Pantazis) Basdravanis. She came to America with her family in 1951. She was a member of St. Spyridon’s Greek Orthodox Cathedral, the Senior Parishioners Group, the Ladies Philoptochos Society and St. George’s Benevolent Society of Tsamantas.
Lamprini was employed by Seven Sisters and Parker Manufacturing Co. for several years retiring in 1983. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, her passion was cooking, baking and composing poems about her life and the love she had for her family. Full of life she will be remembered by her friends and her family for her bright and caring spirit.
Her family would like to thank all the wonderful and caring staff at Holy Trinity where Lamprini called home for the past 5 years. A special thanks to Tony and Lori. We would also like to thank the staff at UMass Memorial, Memorial Campus for the great care she received in the Emergency Room, CCU, and South 6.
Calling hours will be on Monday, May 15, from 5 – 7 PM, with a Trisagion Service at 6 PM at CALLAHAN~FAY~CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. Worcester, Ma. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 16, at 10:30 AM at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell St. followed by interment at Hope Cemetery.
