Mrs. Carmela Tordiglione, of Boston's North End, passed away peacefully, May 6, 2017 at the Halcyon House Nursing Home of Methuen. She was 89 years of age. Carmela was the beloved wife of the late Vincenzo Tordiglione. Born in Bonito, Avellino, Italy she was the daughter of the late Gennaro and Caterina (Lomaglio) DiPietro.

Carmela worked for many years as a talented seamstress in Boston's garment district. She was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers Union. She also worked for several years at the Davide Restaurant on Commercial Street in Boston where she would great people and check coats. Mostly a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she cherished spending time with her family and especially enjoyed her loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved the holidays and celebrating special family events. Family was her main focus in life. Carmela was also a faith filled woman and was a daily communicant and active parishioner of St. Leonard Church in Boston for many years.

Carmela is lovingly survived by her daughters; Diana Vitale and her husband Davide, and Liliana DiCenso and her husband Angelo, all of Wilmington. She was the loving grandmother of Anthony Vitale and his wife Dianne, Marco Vitale and his wife Melissa, Davide Vitale and his wife Jodi, David DiCenso and his wife Katia, Daniel DiCenso, Damion DiCenso and his wife Tina, Dennis DiCenso and his wife Jacki. She was the loving great grandmother of Anthony Jr., Cora, Aedan, Luk, Landon, Davide and Julianna Vitale, Dominic, Damiano, Delia, Davio, Luca and Marco DiCenso. Sister of Urbano DiPietro and his wife Teresa of Braintree. Also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Dorothy Church, Main St., Wilmington, Tuesday, May 9th, at 12 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family at St. Dorothy Church prior to the Mass from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, Malden.
