Obituary

DeFILIPPO, Joseph D. “Joe” of Dedham passed away peacefully on May 5, 2017 surrounded by his family. Survived by his loving wife of fifty years Gloria; his daughter Jeannine Scarsciotti and husband Matt of Wrentham, MA; his son Joseph DeFilippo and his wife Andria of Norton, MA; his son Mark DeFilippo and his wife Amy of Norfolk, MA; and his daughter Jennifer Donegan of Dedham, MA; his brother John DeFilippo and his wife Christine of Dedham, MA; his sister Pauline Walsh of Fiskdale, MA; and his sister Gloria Cohen of Lenox, MA; his nine grandchildren, Aiden, Luigi, Colin, Heather, Ethan, Colby, Dominic, Mia and Cassie.

Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather (NooNoo), brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many. Anyone who knew him, knew his dedication to his family. He was always there and willing to do whatever he could to help anyone out. He had a sense of humor that could not be matched. “When will then be now, soon!”
Joe worked with his father in the family construction business beginning when he was fifteen years old, eventually taking the business over with his brother. He was a lifetime member of the Italian American Club of Dedham, MA and a member of the Dedham Lions Club.

Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home 456 High St. Dedham on Wednesday, May 10th at 9:00 am. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anne’s Church, 79 West Milton St. Readville at 10:00 am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Tuesday, May 9th from 4-8pm. Interment Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
