Justin M. Shaw , 37, of Independence Drive, Warwick, died Friday, May 5, 2017 at his home. He was the beloved son of Sherrie (Scott) Collins and David Collins of Scituate and William Shaw of Providence
He was born in Warwick, and lived in Coventry until moving to Gateway to Change in Warwick where he lived for the past 16 years. Justin’s Gateway family was very dear to heart.
Besides his parents he is survived by his sister: Brittany (Shaw) Clough and her husband, Jason of Foster and their two children: Cameron and Lacey and his step siblings: Andrew Collins and his wife, Doina of North Scituate and their children: Kieran and Zoe, Austin Collins of Cranston and Alyssa Collins of Johnston. He is also survived by his grandmother, Barbara (Alexander) Bourgeois and her husband, Mark of Florida and Barbara and Calden Collins of Scituate. He was the grandson of the late Donald Scott and Leo and Alice Shaw.
Justin had a kind and loving spirit and he touched countless lives. Although he was not able to speak words, he communicated with everyone he loved through his warm touch and loving eyes. His joy in life was his family and his God Jehovah. He enjoyed every moment family and friends gave to him and never took anyone for granted. He always greeted everyone with a smile, reached out his hand to hold it and made them feel loved and special. His great joy the past five years has been his Niece and Nephew Cameron and Lacey who loved and played with him and were blind to his disabilities. His mother Sherrie and sister Brittany shared the great privilege of caring for him at home his first 21 years and then with many special people at Gateway to Change. He deeply loved his surrogate moms Colleen, Juliana and Betty and his Gateway sisters Mary, Erica, Lizzie and Nicole.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 am in Anderson-Winfield Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Visitation Monday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Gateway for Change, Inc. 1060 Park Avenue, Cranston, RI 02910
