FALL RIVER – Inez Maria (Miranda) Correia, formerly Sousa passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Capelas, São Miguel, Açores, she was the daughter of the late João Pacheco Miranda and the late Maria Teresa (Pavão) Miranda. Inez was the wife of the late Jose Sousa and the late James Correia. Prior to retiring, Inez worked in the textile manufacturing industry for both Bradley Scott Manufacturers and San-Toro Manufacturers. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union (I.L.G.W.U.) and enjoyed crocheting.
She is survived by her Children: the late Humberto Sousa, Manuel Sousa of Fall River, Antone Sousa & his wife Melissa of Dartmouth; Fatima Sousa Gadoury & her husband Jason of Fall River, Linda Maria Sousa Correia & her partner Michael of S. Dartmouth; Siblings: Maria Eduarda Borges of Fall River, Matilde Farias of São Miguel, Açores, Manuel Miranda of Westport, Olivia Martins of Fall River, the late John L. Miranda, the late Maria Conceicão Medeiros, and the late Maria Lurdes Arruda; Grandchildren: Alyssa Sousa, Kevin & Amanda Sousa, David & Jillian Kay Correia, Julia & Madison Sousa, Ava, Jason, & Sophia Gadoury; Great Grandchildren: Lily, Jordyn, Oakley, Alivia, & Kevin Jr.; many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Saturday, May 6, 2017 with extended calling hours from 8:00 A.M. – 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s Church, N. Main St. Fall River at 10:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
