TEWKSBURY - Marguerite I. (Calla) Paone, age 80, an active member of Tewksbury’s senior
community, died unexpectedly, Sept. 16, at Saint’s Memorial Medical Center in Lowell. For 52
years, she was the wife of Anthony M. Paone, who died on Sept. 19, 2002.
She was born in East Boston, July 19, 1925, a daughter of the late Nicodemo and Adelina
(Censullo) Calla. She lived in East Boston until moving to Tewksbury 10 years ago.
She worked in the Spiritual Office at Dom Savio High School until her retirement in 1995.
Since moving to Tewksbury she was active in the activities at the Tewksbury Senior Drop-In
Center, and a member of the Red Hat Society. She was also a communicant of St. William’s
Church in Tewksbury.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and her husband John Fitzgerald of
Wilmington, a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and his wife Lisa (Mintz) Paone of Jerico, VT;
three grandchildren, Joseph Fitzgerald, Alex and Taylor Paone; sisters-in-law, Teresa Calla of
Winthrop, Connie and her husband Rocky Iapicca of Winthrop, Mary Miano of Melrose, Grace
and her husband Anthony Delli of Ipswich; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also sister of the late Emily Massullo, John, George, William, Silvio, and Louie Calla.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, Sept.
19, in St. William’s Church, Tewksbury. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
