Jeannette L. (Boulanger) Grondin

CHICOPEE – Jeannette L. (Boulanger) Grondin, 84, of the Chicopee Falls section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, April 24, 2017. She passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Saint Romain, Province of Quebec, Canada on March 4, 1933, a beloved daughter of the late Alfada and Lucienne (Lachance) Boulanger. She was raised and schooled in Saint Romain and following her marriage in Canada in 1953, Jeannette and Francois immigrated to the United States. They later moved to Chicopee in 1955 where she resided the remainder of her life. She was a communicant of the former Saint George Church in Chicopee Falls and currently a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. During her leisure time, she enjoyed bowling. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who showered her family with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Francois R. “Frenchie” Grondin. They were married on August 15, 1953 at Eglise de Saint Evariste in Saint Evariste, Province of Quebec, Canada and were blessed with over 63 years of happiness together. She also leaves her loving son, Jean J. “John” Grondin and his wife, Laura, of Chicopee; her three cherished grandchildren whom she adored, Jason Grondin and his wife, Julie, of Wilbraham, Lisa Hutchinson and her husband, Joseph, of East Longmeadow and Jake Grondin of Chicopee; her cherished great-granddaughter, Ava Hutchinson; her dear brother, Emilien Boulanger and his wife, Simonne, of Lambton, P.Q., Canada; her three dear sisters, Geraldine Vellieux and her husband, Gaston, of Lambton, P.Q., Canada and Susan Gobeille and Louise Giroux and her husband, Raymond, all of Montreal, P.Q., Canada; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Grondin and Boulanger families. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her dear sister, Monique Jacques and her husband, David; and her dear brother-in-law, Laurien Gobeille. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. There are no visiting hours at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
