Edward A. Varrecchia, 95, of Old County Road, Smithfield, died Friday in Cortland Place, Greenville. He was the husband of the late Irene (Sanford) Varrecchia.
Born in Akron, Ohio, a son of the late Dominec and Angela (D’Agostino) Varrecchia. He had lived in Smithfield for many years previously.
He was a WWII Combat Army Veteran. After the war he served with the Army until his retirement. He was also a Music Teacher with the Little Compton School District, a world class Violinist and was a Building Inspector with the Town of Smithfield.
He leaves his cousin, Rudolph F. D’Agostino of Greenville, and many other cousins.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 11:30 am in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Visitation Thursday 10:30-11:30 am. Burial with Military Honors will be in Acote’s Hill Cemetery, Chepachet.
