Obituary

REDDINGTON Rosemary J. (McGee) Age 87. Died in Needham on April 22. She and her husband, Joseph T. “Joe” Reddington, celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in October. They have 6 children, 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren (with 3 more on the way!) She happily welcomed all new members to her ever-growing family, making each feel special and well loved. In addition to her beloved Joe, she is survived by: Son Joseph “Jay” Jr. (Terri Bachman), Grandchild Danielle Blaine (Rick), Great Granddaughter Kaiha; Son Daniel (Jody Spiegel); Son Terrence (Susan Pineo), Grandchildren Terrence Jr. (Angela Nigro), Dean (Ashley Paiva), Great Granddaughter Reagan; Jeffrey (Jasmine Cherico), Corinne (Michael Nowak – engaged); Son Richard (Debbie Horner), Grandson Richard Jr. (Laura Finnucan), Great Grandsons Owen, Max; Grandson Christopher (Jess Baille), Great Granddaughter Ellie; Grandson Joseph; Daughter Maureen Potter, Grandchildren Sarah, Caroline, James, Gregory; Daughter Katie (David Vaas), Grandchildren Brett, Mallory.

Born in Scranton, PA, she had a passion for music, theater and humor. In high school, while performing the role of Snow White, she met her “Prince Charming” (Joe) who was playing the role of The Huntsman. After moving to Needham, MA in 1966, she continued to pursue her passions by performing in community theater productions, singing and playing piano with The Songsters at the Needham Senior Center and with the Knights of Columbus at the Briarwood Nursing Home. A devout Roman Catholic, she was very active at St. Bartholomew’s Parish where she sang in the choir, played the organ and piano, was a former president of the women’s guild and a member of Amy’s Book Club. In addition, she worked at the local polling precinct for nearly forty years where she enjoyed keeping in touch with her neighbors. We know she will continue to be an avid fan of the Red Sox and Patriots from on high.

When we look to the stars, we will see them as the candles she always kept burning whenever family members were traveling. Fly nicely, Mom!

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Rosemary’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org).
