Obituary

FRAMINGHAM: Pedro “Pello” Gonzalez, age 63, a kind and loving man, died at his Framingham home surrounded by those he loved, early Thursday morning, April 13, 2017.

Born, raised, and educated in Cayey, Puerto Rico, he was one of the fifteen children of the late Celestino and Marcelina (Berrios) Gonzalez. Pedro came to Massachusetts in 1980 and has made Framingham his home ever since. He had been employed with Ken’s Foods between 1990 and 2009, and in 1992, started a housekeeping business. Pedro continued to operate the business, of which he was very proud, until his passing.

Pedro, an amazing individual who brightened up a room the moment he walked in, was affectionately known as “Pello” - one who would give the shirt off his back to help others. He was an extraordinary father, son, and uncle, a wonderful grandfather, true friend, and a fighter. Pello had no problem beating anyone at dominos and made sure those he was playing knew it. Pello has touched many hearts in many different ways and truly will be missed. He was a thoughtful, caring man, whose joy in life he readily shared with others.

The former husband friend of Ramona Ruiz and Magdalena Alvarez, Pedro is survived by six children, Pedro Gonzalez, Jr., Lourdes Gonzalez, Lissette Gonzalez, Alicia Gonzalez, Magtirsa Ferreira, and Jonathan Gonzalez; ten grandchildren, Jaedin Garcet, Julitza Cruz, Elena Guzman, Lisa Guzman, Joseph Pabon, Jeremiah Gonzalez, Juliza Alcantara, Jaxson Ferreira, Bentley Gonzalez, and Kingston Gonzalez; two great-grandchildren, Daniella and Aubree Velazquez; his brothers and sisters, Carmen Gonzalez, Marcelino Gonzalez, Tomas Gonzalez, Antonio Gonzalez, Cristobal Gonzalez, Carlos Gonzalez, Celestino Gonzalez, Angel Gonzalez, William Gonzalez, Maria Gonzalez, Geraldo Gonzalez, Milagros Rivera Gonzalez, Jose Gonzalez, and Miriam Santiago Gonzalez; and a large and loving extended family of relatives and friends.

Visiting hours will be at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, on Sunday, April 23rd from 2 – 6PM. Personal reflections of Pedro’s life will begin at 5:00PM. Pello will be laid to rest at Edgell Gove Cemetery, 38 Grove Street, Framingham, on Monday following a service at his gravesite at 10:30AM.
