Alice J. (Ahern) Barry a lifelong Medford resident died peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 95.

After high school, Alice attended Fisher Junior College, where she earned her degree. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. As a younger woman, she was active with the St. Joseph Mother’s Club and the Medford Fortnightly Club. As the years went by, she and her friends were members of Medford’s Forever Young Club.

The beloved wife of the late James H. Barry, late proprietor of Pier Fish Co., she was a devoted mother of Michael Barry and his wife Nancy of Acushnet, Maryellen Trane and her husband David of Wilmington, Marian Barry–Ravagni and her husband Hugh of Saugus, Kevin Barry and his wife Gloria of Wilmington, John Barry of Medford and the late Richard and James Barry, Jean T. Barry–Sutherland and her surviving husband Tom. She was a loving grandmother to six grandchildren.

Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Thursday April 20th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-7 PM.
