Obituary

Ralph O’Hara Sebastian Sidberry, Sequoyah, Tall Tree, member of the Eastern Pequot Tribal Nation, passed unexpectedly into the Spirit world on Wednesday, April 12, 2017.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Sebastian Sidberry, his daughter Willow Grace Sebastian Sidberry, and his baby girl who is on the way.

He is also survived by his mother Katherine Sebastian Dring, Chairwoman of the Eastern Pequot Tribal Nation, his father Ralph O’Hara Sidberry Jr., stepfather, Brian Dring, stepmother Sheryl Sidberry, his sister Bianca Sidberry and stepbrother Sean Dring. He is survived by his grandparents, Roy E. Sebastian Jr., Chief Hockeo Eastern Pequot Tribal Nation and Virginia Sebastian Rose Basket, his grandfather Ralph O’Hara Sidberry Sr, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and loving friends.

Ralph, Sequoyah, loved his family, home, dogs, tribe, reservation and Pequot lands. He worked in archaeology for the Eastern Pequot Tribal Nation and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation for 9 years. He was a Permittee of Global Spirit Shop. He loved many friends who became his brothers and sisters. We are grateful for his life and those who celebrated it with him.

We will miss Ralph Sequoyah dearly. With the blessing of the Creator he traveled to the spirit world knowing we will see him again. We will keep his spirit well in our circle of life.

A service will be held at the United Methodist Church, 130 Broad Street, New London on Monday, April 24 at 10:30am, followed by repass at Eastern Pequot Tribal Nation Longhouse, 391 Norwich Westerly Road, North Stonington CT.
