Marie H. (Lacasse) Lampron Desmarais Silvano

CHICOPEE - Marie H. (Lacasse) Lampron Desmarais Silvano, 89, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. She passed into Eternal Life at Life Care Center of Wilbraham surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Saint Anselme, Province of Quebec, Canada on July 13, 1927, a beloved daughter of the late Eugene and Lea (Cameron) Lacasse. She was raised and attended schools in Saint Anselme. She immigrated to New York where she lived for a short time before moving to Springfield around 1950. In 1969, she moved to Chicopee where she resided the remainder of her life. She was last employed as a cafeteria worker for the Chicopee School Department at Chicopee High School and had previously worked as a seamstress for the former Chicopee Undergarment Company. She was also a well-known seamstress in the area for many years and was sought out by many people for her sewing expertise. During her leisure time, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening and ballroom dancing. Most of all, she was a wonderful homemaker who loved her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was a communicant of the former Saint George Church in the Chicopee Falls section of Chicopee for many years until the closing of her beloved parish. She was predeceased by her three beloved husbands, Maurice B. Lampron who was Called Home on February 9, 2017, Ode "Jack" Desmarais who was Called Home on May 28, 1979 and Anthony "Tony" F. Silvano who was Called Home on December 19, 1997. She leaves her five loving children, Gisele B. Zuchara and her husband, Walter, of Springfield, Roger J. Lampron and his wife, Priscilla, of Ludlow, Susan M. Paquette and her husband, Leo, of Melbourne, FL, Lorraine M. Buchanan and her husband, Stephen, of Chicopee and Lisa Melanson and her husband, Steven, of Agawam; her two loving step-sons, George Desmarais of Texas and Richard Silvano of Brooklyn, CT; her 18 cherished grandchildren; her 25 cherished great-grandchildren; her dear brother, Gerard "Jerry" Lacasse of West Springfield; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Silvano, Lampron, Desmarais and Lacasse families. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was also predeceased by her ten dear siblings, Marie-Blanche, Charles, Louis, Paul, Adrienne, Francois, Joseph "Pete", Michel, Antoine and Ernest. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday morning, April 18, 2017 beginning at the St. Pierre - Phaneuf Springfield Chapels (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery, 292 Hampden Street, Chicopee, MA 01013.
