Knight, Ann Marie (Leydon) of West Roxbury, 83, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2017 at the Sunrise Assisted Living Community in Norwood. Beloved wife of the late PHC Rocress E. Knight, USCG, and loving mother to Attorney Daniel J. Knight and his wife Janice of Franklin, and Kevin J. Knight and his wife Maria of Charleston, SC. Cherished grandmother of Jennifer, Joseph, Alison and Kevin Knight. Loving daughter of the late Daniel J. Leydon and Elizabeth (McDonough) Leydon of Mission Hill. Devoted sister of Mary Leydon of Mission Hill, the late Joseph Leydon, Thomas Leydon of Holbrook, and the late Jean (Leydon) Mattson. Ann is also survived by her sister in law’s Doris Leydon of Woburn, and Elizabeth Glasser of Louisville, KY and many nieces and nephews. Ann was retired from the Boston Police Department after having worked as an overnight 911 emergency operator for many years. She also had managed the All Hands Club at the Coast Guard Base in Boston for several years prior to her employment with the Boston Police Department. Ann was a proud graduate of Mission High School and a founding member of the Parkway Boys and Girls Club. She was also a member of the Castle Island Association and the Gold Star Wives of America.
Visiting hours will be held at the Robert J. Lawler & Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre Street, West Roxbury, MA 02132, on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. The funeral Mass will be held at St. John Chrysostom Church on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 10:00 am and the interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in West Roxbury immediately thereafter. Relatives and friends are invited to attend all services.
