HOLYOKE – Theodore A. “Ted” Slowik, 74, of Holyoke, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, April 4, 2017. He passed into Eternal Life at Holyoke Medical Center in Holyoke surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Springfield on May 26, 1942, a beloved son of the late Albert W. and Stella V. (Raczka) Slowik. He was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School and lived in Chicopee for many years before moving to Holyoke in 1980. He was employed for 25 years at the former O’Connor Lumber Company in Westfield until their closing in 1990. During his leisure time, Ted enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and playing with his beloved Doberman Pinschers. Most of all, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather who adored his family and his many friends. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend of nearly 40 years, Martha A. (Ulbic) Slowik; his four loving children, Shellie Funk and her husband, Richard, Gary Slowik and Jamie L. Morse and her husband, Adam, all of Chicopee and Theodore John “T. J.” Slowik of Virginia Beach, VA; his six cherished grandsons whom he adored, Christopher Zwisler, Stephen Zwisler and his wife, Jenny, Josh Slowik, Jacob Slowik, and Xavier and Maddox Morse; and his two cherished great-granddaughters, Zoey and Aurora Zwisler. His funeral services will be private at the convenience of his family.
