DEVANEY, Richard M., Sr. “Mike” Of Dedham formerly of Jamaica Plain, March 28, 2017. Beloved husband of Dorothy H. (Smith) Devaney for 65 years. Devoted father of Richard M. Devaney Jr. of Taunton, Patricia J. Cody and her husband John of Plymouth, Kathleen A. Devaney of Foxboro, Joan M. O’Brien of Dedham, and Joseph D. Devaney and his wife Denise of Westwood. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews. Mike was one of 14 children. Brother of Frank Devaney of Dedham, Shirley Mulchay of Ocala, FL, Loretta Anufrom of Hyde Park, and Catherine Costello of NH.
Mike was a retired Oil Dealer in the Boston-Dedham area. Member of the Walpole Country Club and Dedham American Legion Post 18. Korean War Veteran, U.S. Air Force.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., DEDHAM, Saturday, Apr. 1 at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary Church, Dedham at 9am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours at the funeral home Friday, Mar. 31 from 4-8pm. Interment in Blue Hills Cemetery, Braintree.
