William H. Bassett, age 72, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, March 28, 2017.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on July 20, 1944, he was a loving son of the late James E. and Ruby (Wofford) Bassett.
Bill grew up in Glen Hazel, Pennsylvania and was a graduate of Gladstone High School. He was a retired cook, having worked at Wheaton College in Norton, and had made his home in Mansfield for many years.
He was the brother of James Bassett of Georgia, Delores Miller of Pennsylvania, Barbara Gantt of Pennsylvania, Evelyn Franklin of Pennsylvania, Ronald Bassett of Georgia, Andre Bassett of Washington, DC and the late Richard Bassett.
Services and burial will be private and visiting hours have been omitted.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
