Obituary

Deitzer, Stephanie (Davis), 59, of Boston, MA passed away on Saturday March 18, 2017, from lung cancer. She was surrounded by her immediate family and close friends. Her courage and grace while battling this challenge were an inspiration to all those around her. Stephanie was born in Poughkeepsie, NY to Claud M. and the late Virginia (Nenni) Davis. She graduated from Roy C. Ketchum High School and received a Bachelors’ of Science from Vanderbilt University where she was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. After college Stephanie worked in a variety of jobs and industries, but she spent the majority of her career with IBM. Stephanie was also the Founder and Owner of Style at Work, an image consulting service and served as the vice president of membership for the New England Association of Image Consultants. She also served on the board of Accelerated College Experience (ACE). Stephanie enjoyed travel, entertaining, singing, horses, and most of all people. She was a respected professional and a trusted friend. Her engaging personality and personal warmth attracted people to her and generated many deep and long lasting friendships. We will all feel her absence.

Stephanie is survived by her husband Jim Deitzer, originally from Bethlehem, PA, with whom she had a wonderful seventeen year marriage. She will be dearly missed by: her father Claud M. Davis of Westborough, MA; brother Claud P. Davis of Southborough, MA along with his wife Rebecca, daughter Jennifer, and two sons Matthew and Thomas; Uncle Roy Davis of Water Valley as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Stephanie surrounded herself with an incredible number of friends and acquaintances who will all miss her unbelievable kindness, generosity, and brilliant smile. In particular Jeanne Nutt, Ted Smith and his husband Brendan Sheehan.

Per Stephanie’s wishes, the family is planning to have a celebration of her life in late spring.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to support her brother’s riding of the Pan Mass Challenge to raise money for The Dana Farber Cancer Institute (www.pmc.org/ rider number CD0051), or by making a contribution in her name to the Boston Ballet (www.bostonballet.org.).
