Gerald J. "Gerry" Beaulieu

CHICOPEE – Gerald J. “Gerry” Beaulieu, 67, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, March 21, 2017. He passed into Eternal Life at his home surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Holyoke on February 8, 1950, a beloved son of the late J. Edmond and Colombe (Forest) Beaulieu. He was raised in Holyoke, graduated from Dean Vocational High School in Holyoke and lived in Chicopee since 1989. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and attained the rank of Engine Man Petty Officer 3rd Class. He served aboard the USS Kretchmer and received the National Defense Service Medal. Following his military service, he returned to Holyoke and began working at Milton Bradley at their subsidiary, New England School Supply. He later was employed as a materials handler for many years at Monsanto Chemical Corporation, later Solutia and now Eastman in Indian Orchard, retiring in 2015. During his leisure time, Gerry enjoyed watching movies and being a “Master Chef”. Most of all, he loved his family and his many friends. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend of over 36 years, Irene M. (Bernier) Beaulieu. His two loving daughters, Sharon A. Page and her husband, Mark, who was very special to Gerry, and Sheila M. Dawson and her husband, Christopher, all of Chicopee; his three cherished grandchildren, Courtney E. Page, Ryan M. Bourdeau and Ashley A. Bourdeau; his two cherished great-grandsons, Lucas R. Bourdeau and Nolan M. J. Reardon; and his many dear brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins and extended members of the Beaulieu and Bernier families. His relatives and friends are invited to attend a Service of Committal with United States Navy Military Honors on Monday, April 3, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. There are no visiting hours at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His family has requested that memorial donations be made in his memory to the Holyoke Soldiers’ Home Activity Fund, 110 Cherry Street, Holyoke, MA 01040.
