Obituary

MASHPEE - Marjorie (Morris) Allen, 95, of Mashpee, and former longtime resident of South Natick, passed away peacefully at the Royal Megansett Nursing and Retirement Home in North Falmouth.
Marjorie was the wife of the late Walter "Pete" Allen.

Born, raised and educated in Grosse Point, Mich., she relocated to Needham with Pete and children Ted and Susan. They raised their children happily in Needham and eventually moved to a beautiful home in South Natick after the children were grown. Marjorie will always be remembered as a caring person who found fulfillment in life by helping others. She devoted her time, love, and attention to making sure that her family was without want. She continued this tradition as she so lovingly welcomed her grandchildren into her life. They were her pride and joy.

As she and Pete entered retirement, they began the discussions of moving to Cape Cod, which was something they talked about for many years. They decided to make Cape Cod living happen and settled in a very welcoming neighborhood in Mashpee. This community offered all the things that meant so much to her, community and friends allowed her to live life as she liked, without time to stop much. Always the first to volunteer at the Mashpee Senior Center or to offer a family member or friend in need any help that she could, she will be remembered by all for her unending kindness.

Marjorie is survived by daughter Susan Hughes and her husband Donald of Natick, and her late son Ted Allen of Portland, Maine. She is also survived by granddaughter Tracey Orciuch and her husband Joe of Bourne, grandson Robert Swartz of Burlington, Conn., granddaughter Kristen Johnson and her husband Steve of Glen Gardner, N.J., grandson David Allen of Wellesley, and grandson Ben Allen of Pennsylvania. Marjorie was also a very proud great-grandmother to six beautiful children: Andrew, Amanda, Kevin, Justin, Megan and Nicole.

A funeral service, under the direction of the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., at Natick Common, will be held in private for Marjorie at her family's request.
