CHICOPEE – Patricia A. “Patty” (Turcotte) Murphy, 64, of the Willimansett section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, March 11, 2017. She passed into Eternal Life at Boston Medical Center in Boston surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving husband. She was born in Northampton on March 7, 1953, the beloved daughter of the late Armand G. and Dorothy E. (Rudolph) Turcotte. She was raised in Chicopee and graduated in 1971 from Chicopee Comprehensive High School. She furthered her education and received an Associate’s Degree from Holyoke Community College. She was a lifelong resident of Chicopee and had moved to the Willimansett section of Chicopee in 1976. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. She enjoyed her yearly trips to Aruba and her many trips to the casinos where she enjoyed playing the slot machines and video poker. Above all, she loved spending time with her husband, her family and her many friends. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, George E. Murphy. They were married on April 19, 1975 at Saint Anne Church in Chicopee and were blessed with over 41 years of happiness together. She also leaves her three loving brothers, George J. “Rocky” Turcotte and his wife, Josie, of Chicopee, David A. Turcotte and his wife, Trudy, of Granby and William R. “Bill” Turcotte and his wife, Dawn, of Chicopee; her cherished nephews and nieces, Nicole “Nikki” Budd and her fiancé, Mike Rego, Samantha “Sam” Turcotte and her companion, Jay, her godson Brady Turcotte, twins Joshua Turcotte and his companion, Melissa, and Elise Peters, and Amanda, Christopher, Brandon, Andrew and Jonathan Turcotte; her cherished step-nephew, Ed Phelps; her cherished grand nephew and grand nieces, Kyla and Sofia, Brady, Jr., Olivia, Cheyenne, Jane and Diamond; her cherished step grand nephew, Lucas; and her four dear aunts, Anita Rheaume of South Hadley, Yvonne Fuller and her husband, Ralph, of Concord, MA, Lorraine White of Easthampton and Bertha Turcotte of West Springfield. Patty also leaves her many dear friends and extended members of the Turcotte and Rudolph families. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her loving brother, Ronald G. Turcotte who was Called Home on September 9, 2005. Her funeral will be held on Saturday morning, March 18, 2017 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Notre Dame Cemetery, 63 Lyman Street, South Hadley, MA 01075. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 17, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot is located at the rear of the funeral home.
