Ruth D. Savickas, formerly of Village Drive, Smithfield, died Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Fatima Hospital. She was the widow of Raymond S. Savickas who died August 1, 2012.
Born in Providence, she was one of seven children of the late Dominikas and Antonetta (Dzekewicz) Molis. She had lived in Smithfield for the past 17 years and had previously lived in Providence. She loved playing bingo and going to the casinos with her family.
She is survived by her children: Ruth Pearson and her husband, Stuart of Burrillville, Raymond J. Savickas and his wife, Marguerite of Cumberland, Russell Savickas and his wife, Carleen of Providence, Rita Woodcock and her husband, Kevin of Coventry, her nine grandchildren: Heather Farrell and her husband, Russell, Matthew Pearson and his wife, Amy, Leah Garneau and her husband, Jesse, Russel, Kirk, Brandon and Aubrie Taylor and her husband, Holden, Kevin R. Woodcock and his wife, Chantel and Tyler Woodcock, her nine great grandchildren: Bradey and Mitchell Farrell, Jaylyn and James Benevides, Sophia Garneau, Conor and Cian Pearson and Easton and Ensley Woodcock and her siblings: Vito Molis of North Providence and Mildred Wright of Providence. She was the sister of the late Alexander and Domenic Molis, Nellie Grande and Ann Thompson.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 9am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common. Burial will follow in RI Veteran's Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation Friday morning from 8-9am.In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to American Lung Association.
