AGAWAM – Victor P. “Vic” Ramah, 99, of Agawam, passed into Eternal Life on Friday, March 3, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was born and raised in Springfield and lived in Agawam for most of his life. Vic was a member of the “Greatest Generation” and served his country during World War II in the US Army Air Corps as a Flight Engineer on B-17 Aircraft attaining the rank of Sergeant. Upon his return from the military, he worked in the family business, Franklin Cleaners on Mill Street in Springfield. In 1965, he became the owner of Center Cleaners in Chicopee. In his younger years, Vic was active in Agawam youth sports and town politics. He was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife of over 50 years, Marion “Mya” (Bonemery) Ramah who passed away in 1995. He leaves his three sons, Russell L. Ramah and his wife, Marsha, James C. Ramah and his wife, Theresa, and Victor J. “Buddy” Ramah and his wife, Ruth; his six grandchildren, Rebecca Ramah, Matthew Ramah and his wife, Alexandra Wilke, Jeffrey Ramah, Elizabeth Ramah, Kasey Brisson and her husband, Dustin, and Megan Duggan and her husband, Edward; his two great-grandsons, Walter and Winston Ramah; his sister-in-law, Helen Quaglini; and his many nephews, nieces, friends and extended members of the Ramah and Bonemery families. Besides his parents and wife, he was also predeceased by his ten siblings, Sally, Mary, Victoria, Thomas, Rose, Amelia, Albert, Edward, Fred and Isar. His funeral will be held on Friday morning, March 10, 2017 beginning at 8:30 a.m. the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 375 Island Pond Road, Springfield, MA 01118. His burial with US Air Force Military Honors will follow the Mass at Springfield Street Cemetery in Feeding Hills. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, his family has requested that memorial donations be made in his memory to Saint Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 375 Island Pond Road, Springfield, MA 01118.
