Obituary

Stulb, Louise E. died peacefully Sunday morning March 5, 2017 in the company of her family at the age 91. Born to John and Mary (Macdonald) Donoghue, Louise grew up in Medford. This remarkable woman traveled to many corners of the world long before international travel became the norm, making a home for her family in many places starting in the 1950s, including Iceland, Kenya, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Framingham, Falmouth, and for the last 20 years in Beacon Hill. A Navy veteran of WWII, she worked at the US Naval Hospital in Ithaca, NY. Following an honorable discharge in 1946, she began a working career as a stewardess with Eastern Airlines in 1947 and concluded her career as the owner of a real estate agency. More important than those accomplishments is her family. She was the wife of Charlie Riordan Stulb. As the mother of five children, David, Richard, Ellen (Pedro), Chris and Charles, loving sibling of Ruth Lynch and brothers Edmund and John, and five grandchildren, John, Ryan, Anna, Meagan and Patrick, she treasured them all. She would always welcome anyone into her home and make them feel part of the family. This especially includes Carina Baranova, friend of David, Dan Pedro, Ellen’s husband, Betsy Streit, friend of Chris, and Carol Tan, Charles’s wife. Louise also was a loving aunt to her many nieces and nephews and will be remembered with much fondness by them. Her happiest spot was the water’s edge whether it be Marshfield, Cape Cod, Maine or the Outer Banks, and always with a dog close by. She will always be held in her family and friends' hearts as a gentle yet strong woman who never lost her ability to laugh under any circumstances and the wonder at the miracle that is our world.
